The Swisher LSED14534 Timber Brute is built for landowners and firewood operators who need more than a light homeowner splitter. Its 14.5 HP / 603cc Kawasaki electric-start engine, direct-drive hydraulic system, and 2-stage 22 GPM pump give it the muscle to work through large rounds and mixed hardwood piles.
The beam works in both horizontal and vertical splitting positions, so heavy rounds can be split from the ground instead of lifted onto the beam. A heavy-duty log cradle helps keep material positioned while you work, and the vertical beam lock secures the beam when splitting upright.
This model includes a 4-way wedge and a 1 in. machined steel compound wedge for faster production when the wood is suitable. It is road towable for moving around a property or between work areas. Assembly is required; Swisher notes that the standard lawn and garden battery and hydraulic fluid are not included.
