The Maxim 48 in. Tow-Behind Plug Aerator is built for landowners, grounds crews, and property managers who need wider aeration coverage without stepping up to a self-propelled machine. The 48 in. aerating width helps cover larger lawns and commercial properties efficiently behind a riding mower or compatible tow vehicle.
Its plug-style design uses 44 bolt-in spoons to remove soil cores so air, water, and nutrients can reach the root zone. That helps reduce compaction, encourage stronger root growth, and improve moisture movement in heavy-use or clay soil areas.
The drum can be filled with up to 32 gallons of water for an added 267 lbs. of down pressure when conditions call for deeper penetration. A rotating tow bar raises the drum for transport or lowers it for aeration, while the 410/350-4, 2-ply transport tires help move the unit across the property between jobs.
