The Maxim 36 in. tow-behind plug aerator is built for landowners, acreage managers, and lawn-care crews working with clay soils, compacted turf, and larger lawns. It hitches behind a riding mower so one operator can open up the root zone without wrestling a walk-behind machine.
Its 36 replaceable bolt-in spoons remove plugs of soil instead of just poking surface holes. That helps air, water, and nutrients move into the turf where roots can actually use them.
The drum can hold up to 24 gallons of water, adding up to 200 lb. of ballast for stronger penetration in thick or dry ground. A rotating tow bar raises the drum for transport, while the transport tires help move the unit between work areas.
